Our Story

Conceived 2016, and founded in 2017, Vipawa Children’s Art Museum (VCAM) opened in a temporary wooden structure to address a critical need; to support children’s growth—social, emotional, and cognitive—through the arts. Redesigned its space in 2020 in same location and serving children aged 3 to 15, VCAM offers interactive, arts-based learning that enhances their transition to public life and academic spaces.

VCAM believes that children’s abilities flourish through visual, performing, and literary arts, embedded within rich cultural expressions. Our work provides children with the tools to make informed, empowered decisions as they grow, nurturing their talents with passion, play, and creativity. We pay special attention to inclusion, creating programming that celebrates children with special needs as equal participants in the creative journey.

At VCAM, we affirm that every child is a gift, and each is gifted differently. Our programs create the space for children to express themselves freely, build confidence and self-esteem, and explore practical, hands-on skills that support both their livelihood and love of learning.

We believe that all children are born artistic. They need only encouragement and inspiration from the people and environments around them to fully realize their potential. VCAM is proud to be that nurturing space—a place where children and families learn together through art, play, and discovery.
